For visitors to dr-kasia.com · Kasia Staniaszek, Psy.D.
The full version is below, in two parts: privacy (sections 1 to 6) and the terms for using the site (sections 7 to 13). Using this site means you accept the terms.
Part one · Privacy
This website, dr-kasia.com, is published by me, Kasia Staniaszek, Psy.D. It tells you about my work, carries my writing, and gives you a way to reach me.
This page covers you as a visitor to the website. The privacy of people in treatment is covered separately, by the health-privacy notice every client receives before care begins.
The form on the contact page asks for your first and last name, your email address, and your message, and nothing else. When you press Send, the message travels over an encrypted connection straight from your browser to a small program running inside my own Google account. That program emails the message to me and keeps one copy, a single spreadsheet row holding the date, your name, your email address, and your message, in the same account, so an enquiry cannot be lost in a busy inbox.
Google handles the message under a signed business associate agreement, which is a contract federal health-privacy law requires from any company that handles health information on a practice's behalf. Cloudflare, the company that serves this website's pages, never receives what you write. I keep enquiries as long as I need them to reply and to keep an accurate record of who has contacted me, and I reply by ordinary email to the address you gave.
If you write to me, I may occasionally email you about my practice and services. Every such email includes a way to opt out.
Two smaller things you should know. Opening the contact page sends a short wake-up check from your browser to that Google program so that sending is faster; the check carries nothing you have typed. Nevertheless, please keep sensitive health details out of the form: a sentence or two about what you are looking for is plenty, and the rest can wait until we speak.
This site is not aimed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
This site is served by Cloudflare. Any company that hosts a website sees the technical details of each request: your IP address, which is the number that identifies your internet connection, the kind of browser you use, the pages you ask for, and when you asked. Cloudflare uses those details to deliver the pages and to block attacks, under its own privacy policy, and I do not receive those raw records.
The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused counter. It sets no cookies, does not record your IP address, and does not build a profile of you or your device. What I see are totals: which pages were read, and roughly how often.
There are no advertising trackers here. No Google Analytics, no social media pixels, nothing that follows you to other websites.
This site sets no cookies, which are the small files a website saves in your browser to recognize you later. It saves nothing else in your browser either. When you close the tab, nothing of this site stays behind except what your own browser keeps for itself, such as its history.
Email is never a fully private channel: a message can be misaddressed, forwarded, or read on a lost phone. If you write to me by email, keep it brief and leave sensitive health details for when we speak.
Part two · Terms of use
Everything on this site, including the Notes articles, is general information. Reading it is not therapy, it does not create a treatment relationship between us, and writing to me through the form does not make you my client. A treatment relationship begins only after we have spoken and you have signed a consent agreement among other forms.
Nothing here is advice about your particular situation. If something you read matters to a decision about your health, discuss it first with a professional who knows your circumstances.
This website and its contact form are not watched around the clock, and no reply is promised by any particular time. If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself, do not wait for a reply from this site. Call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
I write this site carefully, and it can still be incomplete, out of date, or wrong for your situation. It is provided as it stands, with no promises about accuracy or fitness for any purpose, and to the extent New York law allows I am not responsible for losses that come from relying on it.
The words and images on this site belong to me unless another source is credited. You are welcome to read, link to, print, or save pages for your own personal use. Please ask before republishing anything, and do not present my writing as yours.
Use the site fairly: do not scrape it in bulk, and do not use the contact form for advertising, automated messages, or anything unlawful.
Some pages link to other websites, such as a professional profile of mine. I do not control those sites, and their own privacy policies and terms apply the moment you leave this one.
I do not participate in the network of any health plan, and I am not affiliated with any hospital. Sessions are paid directly by the client. The amount you will be billed, or an estimate of it, is available on request, and I will put it in writing if you ask.
I may change this page as the website and my work change. The version date at the bottom tells you which version you are reading, and the page published here is the one in force.
These terms, and any dispute about this website, are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any legal action arising from them must be brought in a court located in Nassau County, New York. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. If you have questions about anything on this page, send them through the contact form.
